Scanning help
Place the receipt on a flat, contrasting surface, keep all four edges visible, avoid glare, and review the detected total and items before saving.
Privacy and account
Manage sync settings and permanently delete your Recipti account from the Profile tab. Local and private iCloud receipts remain under your control.
Correcting a receipt
Open the receipt, review its item list, and use the available edit or review controls to correct merchant details, products, quantities, taxes, or totals. Saving a correction also helps Recipti improve future parsing.
Why is an item missing or wrong?
Recipti reads receipts with on-device text recognition, and accuracy depends on things like lighting, glare, faded thermal paper, and how a specific retailer formats its receipt. Recipti cannot guarantee every item, price, or total will be recognized correctly — that's why every scan opens for review before saving. Please check the result against your receipt, especially for anything you plan to use for taxes, expense reports, warranties, or returns, and keep the original receipt for those purposes.
If a specific retailer's receipts consistently parse poorly, email us a photo along with the retailer name — that helps us improve recognition for that format.
Sync and storage
Device storage, private iCloud sync, and anonymous community contribution are separate features. Check the Profile tab to see which options you enabled. Saving a scanned receipt does not upload the full receipt or original image to Recipti. Signing out does not automatically delete stored data.
Delete your account
In the iOS app, open Profile and choose Delete Account. Confirming removes information stored by Recipti's backend. You can delete local or private iCloud receipts separately.
Contact support
Describe what you expected, what happened, your iOS and Recipti versions, and the retailer involved. Please do not email full payment-card numbers or account passwords.
